SRC is promoting MY IDEAL CAMPUS with 9 IDEAS:

1. Revision Period
* To seek from administration to lengthen the current revision period from 3 days to a week.

2. Registration System
* To request from administration not to change the schedule in a sudden without informing the students.
* To request from the administration to allow students to do pre-registration first although the payment of their fees (during the current semester) are not done yet.
* To suggest the administration to prepare enough seats per class (40 seats).
* To ask the administration to add more server for pre-registration.
* To ask Admissions and Records (A&R) to paste notice on pre-registration a month before at each Kulliyyah so that students will aware about it.
* To provide a systematic study plan in each Kulliyyah similar to the systematic study plan in Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Law (AIKOL).

3. Wireless
* To propose from Information & Technology Division to upgrade the wireless system especially in Mahallah.

4. Mahallah Ali (Road)
* To request from Development Division to improve condition of road in front of Mahallah Ali.

5. Islamization Environment
* To ask administration to promote Islamic environment in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

6. Facilities for students with special needs
* To request from administration to upgrade facilities for students with special needs at Mahallah & Kulliyyah especially for wheel chair students.

7. Bureaucracy
* To reduce red tapes in campus mainly on students' programme.
* To give more freedom to students in organizing events.

8. International Issues
*To propose for international representatives in Kulliyyah Based Societies and Mahallah Representative Councils.
* To request from Facilities, Food & Services Department (FFSD) for international outlets at each cafeteria in Mahallah.

9. Food prices.
* To ask Facilities, Food & Services Department (FFSD) to standardize the prices of food in all cafeterias in IIUM campus.
* To propose from FFSD on the food prices from students' perspective in which to involve students or Students' Representative Council (SRC) for the food prices.

SRC INFORMATION: MEETING WITH ITD

29th November 2011, ITD Office - There was a meeting between Students’ Representative Council 2010/2011 with ITD Unit regarding to wireless services provided in IIUM. Our meeting began with a short briefing on the amount of current wireless provided at every campus. As presented, total amount of wireless provided in all campuses is 285 mpbs where Gombak Campus is the highest with the total is 114 mbps. This has made Gombak campus as the highest compared to the other campuses;InderaMahkota Campus, ISTAC, IIiBF and Centre for Foundation Studies, PJ.

Since students’ welfare always becomes SRC’s first priority, lots of questions and issues were being asked and discussed during our meeting. First issue is on the blocking of specific websites which have interrupted the wireless services. This has resulted for other students unable to get the connections. As ITD staffs responded, IIUM is encouraging academic freedom. So by blocking certain websites is against the policy. However, regarding to this matter, ITD Unit is always monitoring on the websites search by the students by using IIUM wireless services.

Furthermore, another issue has been raised is on pre-registration which students always have difficulties to register their courses. The response given, it is due to the problem of website which is monitored by Administration and Records. They have stressed during the meeting for the low connection of wireless especially in mahallah, it is actually because of limitation for each AP to provide the connection. According to them, each AP is able to support maximum 30 users at one time. But as always occurs, there were 70 and even more users are requesting for the wireless at one time.

At the same time, it has been suggested as SRC should educate the students using the IIUM wireless. In order to make sure our friends do not miserably searching for the connection, it is advisable to browse internet only at appropriate duration and academic and beneficial purposes as we are sharing with other numerous of users.

On the other hand, ITD Unit is actually aware of low wireless connection at mahallah since there were several complaints made by students pertaining to this matter. The problem is due to bad planning during the construction of mahallah. Despite of large and growing number of users compared to ability for the provider to support the services, ITD Unitis initiating to loan and set up a few APs at the critical areas especially at postgraduate block in mahallah by the middle of this month (December) as a short term plan to cater this problem.
As regard to this issue, ITD Unit is in progress to improvise wireless services the other areas especially at mahallah by the middle of 2012

ISSUE: Cafeteria

November, 18 - Ten of mahallah's cafeterias have been closed after the inspection made by Gombak's health inspectors under the Ministry of Health Malaysia.
The other SIX CAFETERIAS IN MAHALLAH THAT ARE STILL OPENED are
1. Hafsah's cafeteria
2. Asma's cafeteria
3. Nusaibah's cafeteria
4. Halimah's cafeteria
5. Asiah's cafeteria
6. Safiyah's cafeteria

Also,

7. Cafeterias in the Centre

Those ten cafeterias failed to achieve 65% rating. the operators were asked to close those cafeterias immediately and were given two days to do cleaning operation for SECOND INSPECTION. they have to achieve 80% rating in order to pass the inspection. IF THOSE CAFETERIAS FAIL TO ACHIEVE 80% RATING, THEY WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL THEY FULFIL THE REQUIREMENT.
Referring to the Act, they have to be closed for 14 days but FFSD had made an appeal to allow them to be opened by this Tuesday.

For the affected students, you can choose one of the following alternatives:
1. Eat at the sisters' cafe that are still operating
2. Eat at the centre
3. Eat outside of IIUM

1) REVISION PERIOD

Our request regarding to "Revision Period(extension the period)" has been revise for our Honourable Rector during the meeting with Her yesterday. After it was rejected at the 1st stage . Alhamdulillah, She agreed to standardize our revision period with other universities.

2) WIRELESS ISSUE

Wireless issue will be our 1st priority among the other issues. InsyaAllah, 23 November 2011 we are going to have a meeting with ITD. Our plan is to get the facts and figures regarding to the coverage in our university. Actually, how much that we need to make it in full coverage since it is related to the cost to upgrading the performance/seRvice. In addition, to ask them to solve this problem immediately or to provide another alternative to cater the issue.

3) FOOD PRICE STANDARDIZATION

Food Price probably standardize in the next sem. Because, currently SRC and FFSD are making some comparison to our food price and condition with UPM (done),UKM and UM.

SRC Komited Perjuang Kebebasan dan Keadilan

Pada 21 Oktober yang lalu, dengan mengadakansuatu pertemuan dengan pihak pentadbiran UIAM bagi mendapatkan penjelasanberkenaan isu Prof. Aziz Bari, Presiden SRC, mewakili suara mahasiswa UIAMtetap tegas dengan pendirian bahawa peristiwa tersebut telah mencabuli hakkebebasan bersuara (freedom of speech) dan kebebasan akademik (freedom ofacademic). Dalam pertemuan pada hari itu, beliau menuntut beberapa perkaraantaranya mendesak pihak UIAM menarik semula penggantungan terhadap Prof. AzizBari dan diadakan perbicaraan terbuka (public hearing). Alhamdulillah, pada 24Oktober yang lalu, UIAM menarik semula penggantungan tersebut.

Kelihatan Presiden SRC bersama pimpinan mahasiswa yang lain sedang bernegosiasi untuk mendapatkan kebenaran masuk bagi menyerahkan memorandum kepada YB Menteri.

Namun, meyakini bahawa penarikan semulapenggantungan tersebut, bukanlah bermakna kes tersebut telah selesai, keranaProf. Aziz Bari masih perlu melalui proses siasatan dan perbicaraan serta akanberhadapan dengan pelbagai kemungkinan tindakan dan hukuman.

Semalam, 25 Oktober, Presiden SRC sekali lagimengetuai delegasi pimpinan-pimpinan mahasiswa UIAM, terus membuat desakandengan bertindak menyerahkan memorandum kepada YB Dato’ Seri Hishamuddin.

Sedang menunggu keputusan kebenaran masuk ke dewan. Alhamdulillah, akhirnya dibenarkan. Namun hanya 3 orang sahaja yang dibenarkan. Pihak media juga dilarang memasuki dewan untuk membuat liputan.

Antara yang terkandung dalam memorandumtersebut ialah untuk mendesak Kerajaan Malaysia agar :

Memberi kebebasan intelekkepada ahli akademik dalam menyuarakan pendapat.
Setiap ahli dalam bidangmasing-masing diberi hak untuk megeluarkan pandangan seiring dengan ilmu yangdimiliki dalam bidang mereka.
Membatalkan siasatan keatas Prof. Aziz Bari kerana beliau dalam kes ini, menjadi mangsa akibat kebebasan akademik yang disekat.

Presiden SRC berjalan keluar dewan setelah selesai menyerahkan memorandum.

Selesai menyerahkan memorandum, Presiden SRCmenegaskan :

“We already submitted the memorandum by hand to YB. Dato’ Seri Hishamuddin.We will follow up this issue... This is our first memorandum... If there is nofurther action taken by them, we will fight till the end...”

BROTHERHOOD GATHERING PROGRAMME-WE STRIVE OVER THE DA’WAH

September 28^th–Alhamdullilah, indeed all the praises are only deserve for Allah s.w.t as Heis the one who has given us strength, spirits and chance to run this eventduring this semester. After all the struggles, this gathering was successfullyrun by all committees.

The mainobjective of this event is to have an open discussion with Da’wah & Tarbiah Secretariat from all societies, MRC and also with international representativeswhich have quite large community in this university. Another objective of thisBrotherhood Gathering is to preserve Islamic environment which has been‘eroded’ as this university.

Generally,this program has achieved its goal when we have received a large number ofparticipants. They have showed such a great of interest by vigorously respondsto each questions and opinions asked by the Moderator. The discussion has becomea remarkable indicator to show that our community is concerning and lookingforward for the resolution on this ummatic problem in IIUM especially. Truly, theyare still craving and waiting for the da’wah to be delivered and spread amongthem.

Afterhaving discussion for 3 hours, there are some opinions and suggestions made bythe representatives. Their suggestions are as follow:

1. All communities of IIUM must have theawareness of spreading da’wah.

2. Increase the efforts and make targets to thosewho are not really interested with Islamic programmes and values on spreadingthe da’wah.

3. Continue to make humbly requests to IIUMAdministration, since the power of implementing Islamic environment is belongto them.

From whathave been discussed by the students through this open discussion, we can see thekeen of interests, feelings and hopes from participants to make sure thisuniversity always stick with its mission of ‘TRIPLE ICE’ particularly in thematter of Islamization.

So, let ushold our hands together and make our ukhuwwah stronger. Say to them that we loveIslam and we shall always strive over da’wah!!

September, 24 – Alhamdulillah, on 23^rd & 24^thSeptember, Presidential Secretariat managed to organize a 2-days programme thatunites IIUM Student Leaders. Several talks have been arranged to instillmotivation & knowledge to IIUM Student Leaders such as:

It has been attended byrepresentatives from several societies, clubs and mahallah representatives. Themost crucial part in this programme was the discussion for resolutions thatwill be submitted to the top management. The issues that we had discussed are:

Student Parliament

Here are the summary of the solutions that we will submit to the topmanagement:

INTEGRATION & INTERNATIONALIZATION

1. Increasethe number of the enrolment of international students from 17% to 30&%.

2. Ensureinternational students representation in KBS, MRC and other clubs.

3. Enforcemixed of international & local students as committee for all universityprograms to promote integration.

4. Ensurethe usage of official language (English & Arabic) in programme organized bycommittee.

5. Improveour admission procedure especially in AnR – reduce the bureaucratise systemtowards the newcomers of international students & provide assistance forthe newcomers of international students.

6. Improve immigration facilities.

7. Improveservices for international students such as exclude from exchange room everysemester and provide store room facilities for international students duringvacation.

8. Providemulti language for IIUM website; English & Arabic language.

9. Increasethe promotion of IIUM in international market.

10. For theproposal of programme to get accepted there must be several committees thatconsist of a balance number of national and international students.

11. Improvethe quality of programmes and ensure students (committee) decision making isorganized.

12. Catersto the issue of integration in Ta’aruf week as well. The schedule for Ta’arufWeek is full with briefing which students perceive it as dull and uninteresting– this should be improved as Ta’aruf Week is the first impression towards newintake students.

ISLAMIZATION

13. Establishmentof Da’wah Council with participation from students from Dakwah and Tarbiyyah(DnT) of KBS/MRC/Societies/Clubs.

14. Administrationshould strengthen the job scope of the respected unit that in charge ofIslamization and collaboration between Da’wah Council and the respected unitcan be done.

15. Developmentdivision in collaboration with Safety & Security Section should providesignboard of dress-code in front of the main gate of IIUM.

16. Administrationshould increase the number of security officers (which currently is 160officers).

17. Optimizethe job scope of security officers to supervise hot spot and Da’wah Councilwill help security officers to recognize the hot spot.

18. IbadahCamp must be made compulsory to the first year student and the tentative shouldbe fixed with the mission of Islamization.

19. Administrationshould gives full commitment in emphasizing the mission of Islamization (theonly mission that make us different from other universities / institutions)especially lecturers.

ACADEMIC

20. Improvethe pre-registration system

21. Increasethe numbers of lecturers in accordance with the demands of the students.

22. Extendthe length of revision period to 7 days

23. Maximizethe duration for CELPAD students for 2 years only

WELFARE

24. Administrationshould cooperate with Jabatan Perhilitan to cope with issues of stray monkeysand dogs.

25. Food& Facilities Services Division (FFSD) must have specific/standardize pricelist for the cafés and kiosks.

26. Severalactions should be taken by the respective Kulliyyah/authority

27. Roadin front of the Mahallah Ali that should be upgraded.

28. Transportationunit may discuss with the transportation company from outside to accommodate theneeds of IIUM communities regarding the inconsistency of bus from the outside.

August, 24 - Alhamdulillah, in this glory of Ramadhan, we managed to have a meeting with IIUM Rector, Prof Dato' Dr. Zaleha Kamaruddin. It is our pleasure of having the opportunity to spend one hour with her especially as we have been invited to go inside her own office. After we introduced our 'cabinet', we have discussed with her on several issues:

1. Welfare of IIUM Students - Facilities; wider coverage for wireless. Efficiency of service by the administration towards IIUM students and etc. and from both our office and Prof's office, we agree to have further discussion.

2. Finance - Allocation budget for clubs, societies and src. The process for students to claim their money (after program). Sponsorship and etc.

3. Islamic environment - Issues of dresscode inside IIUM. Issues of dresscode outside IIUM campus especially when representing IIUM such as tournament. Respecting the azan and etc.Our main concern is to emphasize on islamization as stated in IIUM vision n mission

4. Prof. also shared with us several changes on the administration part such as Council of Professors, Mosque as the academic center and etc.

5. Other issues

During discussion, we can see that our Honorable Rector tend to focus on education compared to giving enforcement towards students. Prof. ardently hope to see this garden of knowledge and virtue can be imbued with IIUM Vision and Mission. InshaAllah!. May all of us gain benefits and all the deeds be accepted as 'Ibadah.

REPORT ON PROVISION OF MAHALLAH STOREROOM DURING SEMESTER BREAK

Assalamaulaikum wbt..

Since University is now in the process of implementing new Academic Calendar which Semester 1 for the session 2011/2012 will commence on 12 September 2012, there was a problem faced by IIUM students to put their belongings during the long vacation.

Therefore, a few actions were taken by SRC 10/11 Exco Members to solve this issue. Among them are as follows:

1. A meeting with Mahallah Representative Committee (MRC) 2010/2011 was conducted to gather all opinions and suggestions from them to be brought to the upper level management of University.

2. An online survey on the provision Mahallah storeroom had been launched by Welfare Secretariat SRC 10/11.There were more than 500 responses obtained through this survey. Almost 98% of the respondents requested for provision of Mahallah storeroom during the long vacation.

3. A meeting with Deputy Prof.Dr.Nik Ahmad KamalNik Mahmood (Deputy Rector, Student Affairs) and Madam Noorzamzarina (Student ServicesDepartment) had been conducted to find any possible solutions for this issue.

Results:

1) Formale Mahallah:

a)Uthman,Farouq and Siddiq:

Due to renovation work which will be done during short semester, there are nostoreroom can be provided in order to facilitate the renovation.

b) Bilal:

The meeting room will be used as astoreroom.

c)Ali:

TV Room will be used as storeroom.

2) For female Mahallah:

a) Safiyyah, Aminah, Hafsa and Ruqayyah:

The storeroomwill be provided

On 7^th April2011, the latest decision from Prof Nik was to provide the storerooms duringthis break. Therefore, all students are allowed to keep their belongings in thestorerooms that will be provided. The procedure is subject to the respective MahallahOffices. Students may contact Mahallah office for further details.

Note:

For somereasons, some other female Mahallah cannot provide storeroom because there areno guarantee for the security of storeroom during vacation and there are noenough space for Mahallah to provide storeroom.

PENGAJARAN DI SEBALIK PERISTIWA ISRA’ DAN MIKRAJ

[1] Sedar atau pun tidak, kita kini sudah berada di penghujung bulan Rejab. Bulan yang padanya telah berlaku suatu peristiwa penting dalam sejarah umat Islam, yakni Isra’ dan Mikraj. Peristiwa ini berlaku pada tahun ke-11 selepas kenabian Rasulullah SAW. Peristiwa ini merupakan bukti kukuh tentang keagungan dan kebesaran Allah SWT, dalam memperjalankan hambaNYA (Rasulullah SAW) dari Masjidil Haram ke Masjidil Aqsa Baitul Maqdis di Palestin. Seterusnya, Rasulullah SAW telah di angkat ke langit untuk menghadap Allah SWT pada malam yang amat bersejarah itu. Sebagaimana Firman Allah SWT yang bermaksud:

“Maha Suci Allah yang telah memperjalankan hambaNYA(Muhammad) pada malam hari dari Masjid Al-Haram (Makkah) ke Masjid al-Aqsa (Palestin), yang KAMI berkati disekelilingnya, untuk memperlihatkan tanda-tanda(kekuasaan dan kebesaran) KAMI. Sesungguhnya Allah jualah Yang Maha Mendengar Lagi Maha Mengetahui”

(al-Isra’: 1)

[2] Sesungguhnya peristiwa tersebut telah memberikan implikasi yang besar kepada keimanan dan keyakinan Umat Islam, terhadap kebenaran kenabian Nabi Muhammad SAW, melalui bukti Mukjizat akan Kekuasaan Allah SWT. Kesan daripada itu, berlaku penafian dan tempelakan daripada kalangan umat Islam yang masih nipis Imannya dan lebih-lebih lagi mereka yang masih dikabuti Samar jahiliyyah. Namun begitu, mereka yang utuh akan keimanannya, tetap mempercayai tentang kebenaran yang dituturkan melalui lidah suci Rasulullah SAW. Sebagaimana yang dilakukan oleh Sayyidina Abu Bakar as-Siddiq, yakni orang yang pertama yang membenarkan peristiwa tersebut, sehingga beliau digelar sebagai “as-Siddiq” yang bermaksud “Orang Yang Benar”.

[3] Serangan Jahiliyyah Moden kini semakin menggila, sehingga amukan gejala sosial dan keruntuhan akhlak dalam pelbagai bentuk di Negara ini, menyebabkan kita sering hilang arah pedoman untuk mengatasinya. Saya yakin dan percaya bahawa sekiranya Umat Islam mampu meneladani akan peristiwa kebenaran Isra’ Mikraj, InsyaAllah kita mampu mengatasi segala kebejatan sosial dan kemungkaran berlaku di sekeliling kita. Sesungguhnya, peristiwa Isra’ dan Mikraj merupakan satu ujian dalam proses pemisahan antara mereka yang benar-benar beriman kepada Allah dan RasulNYA dengan mereka yang masih rapuh Imannya serta mereka masih berada dalam gelapnya kekufuran.

[4] Demi memperingati peristiwa Isra’ dan Mikraj ini, marilah sama-sama kita saling mengingatkan agar kita melaksanakan segala tuntutan dan suruhanNYA, serta meninggalkan segala laranganNYA. Bagi mereka yang bergelut dalam kancah kemaksiatan, maka sedar dan insaflah serta kembalilah kepada jalan yang benar. Bertaubatlah dengan sebenar-benar taubat, mudah-mudahan cara hidup yang mendatang akan di naungi oleh Redha Allah SWT.

[5] Akhirul kalam, marilah sama-sama kita mahu dan mampu merenung Firman Allah SWT dalam Surah al-Israk ayat 60, yang bermaksud:

“Dan Tiadalah KAMI menjadikan (pada malam Mikraj) yang telah KAMI perlihatkan kepadamu melainkan sebagai suatu ujian bagi manusia; dan(demikian juga kami jadikan) pokok yang yang di laknat di dalam al-Quran; dan KAMI beri mereka takut(dengan berbagai-bagai amaran) maka semua itu tidak menambahkan keimanan mereka melainkan dengan kekufuran yang melampau-lampau”

[1] Sebagai Muslim, kehidupan kita adalah berlandaskan Syariat yang telah ditetapkan oleh Allah berasaskan kepada Akidah, Syariah dan Akhlak. Namun ada di kalangan kita yang lalai dalam melaksanakan perintah Allah S.W.T. Justeru, Allah mengutuskan Rasul dengan tujuan memperingatkan manusia agar mentauhidkan Allah dan melaksanakan segala titah perintahNYA.

[2] Kini, tugas para rasul terdahulu menjadi tanggungjawab kita bersama sebagai Muslim dalam melaksanakan Amar Ma’ruf Nahi Munkar. Amanah ini meliputi semua individu dalam meletakkan manusia di atas Paksi Kebenaran. Sebagaimana Firman Allah S.W.T menerusi Surah at-Taubah Ayat 71 yang bermaksud:

“Dan orang-orang yang beriman, lelaki dan perempuan, setengahnya menjadi penolong bagi setengahnya yang lain; mereka menyuruh berbuat Kebaikan, dan melarang daripada berbuat kejahatan; dan mereka mendirikan sembahyang dan memberi zakat, serta taat kepada Allah dan RasulNYA. Mereka akan diberi Rahmat oleh Allah. Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Kuasa, lagi Maha Bijaksana”

[3] Amar Ma’ruf Nahi Mungkar hendaklah dilaksanakan oleh semua peringkat masyarakat. Melakanakan Amar Ma’ruf Nahi Mungkar hendaklah mengikut keutamaan iaitu dengan Kuasa, Ucapan, Nasihat dan Peringatan. Atau sekurang-kurangnya setiap muslim perlu membenci kemungkaran di dalam hatinya. Sebagai mana sabda rasullullah S.A.W yang bermaksud:

“Barangsiapa yang melihat kemungkaran, maka hendaklah ia mengubah dengan tangannya. Jika tidak mampu, hendaklah ia mengubah dengan lisannya. Jika tidak mampu, hendaklah ia mengubah dengan hatinya. Yang demikian itu adalah selemah-lemah Iman”

[4] Kita lupa bahawa sikap tidak peduli ini dan kegagalan melaksanakan tuntutan Amar Ma’ruf Nahi Mungkar sebenarnya mengundang bencana dalam hidup kita dan menjemput kemurkaan Allah Yang Maha Keras SeksaanNYA. Marilah kita renungi dan mengambil iktibar akibat dan bencana yang berlaku pada Umat manusia yang meninggalkan tuntutan ini. Antaranya:

PERTAMA: LAKNAT ALLAH DAN KEMURKAANNYA. Al-Maidah ayat 78-79:

“Orang-orang Kafir dari Bani Israel telah dilaknat melalui lidah Nabi Daud dan Nabi Isa Ibni Maryam. Demikian itu disebabkan mereka menderhaka dan selalu melampaui batas. Mereka antara satu sama lain tidak pernah mencegah tindakan mungkar yang mereka lakukan. Sesungguhnya amatlah buruk apa yang mereka telah lakukan”

KEDUA: TIDAK MENDAPAT PENGIKTIRAFAN SEBAGAI MUSLIM SEBENAR.

Dalam sebuah hadis daripada Ibnu Abbas R.A bahawa rasulullah S.A.W bersabda:

“Bukanlah daripada kalangan kami sesiapa yang tidak mengasihi kanak-kanak dan menghormati orang tua dan tidak pula menyuruh kepada kebaikan dan mencegah kemungkaran” (Riwayat at-Tarmizi)

KETIGA: BERLAKU MALAPETAKA DAN DOA TIDAK LAGI DIPERKENANKAN.

Hakikat ini disebut dalam sebuah hadis daripada Huzaifah bin al-Yamanbahwa Rasullah S.A.W bersabda:

“Demi jiwaku ditanganNYA, hendaklah kamu terus menyuruh kepada kebaikan dan mencegah kemungkaran atau jika tidak dibimbangi Allah akan mengutuskan satu azab ke atas kamu kerananya. Kemudian jika kamu berdoa kepadaNYA, tidak pula akan diperkenankan doamu itu”

(Riwayat at-Tarmizi)

14th June 2011-Chairperson Welfare Secretariat ,Hafizul Faris Che Razlan accompanied by Bro Nik Muhammad Hanis , Assistant Secretary 1 were having a meeting with Bro Megat Mohd Samsul Assistant Hostel Manager Mahallah Ali regarding requests from Bro Imran, who is a disable student (hand disability). He who stay at mahallah Siddiq had asked SRC to bring his requests which are to change mahallah from Siddiq to Mahallah Ali and to provide a parking for him in front of his block.

After his requests has been rise up to Bro Megat Mohd Samsul (Assistant Hostel Manager Mahallah Ali ), it was approved by the Mahallah and they agreed to serve it as soon as possible. Therefore, Mahallah Authority agreed to serve it as concern to students welfare as their core service.

Bismillahwalhamdulillah,

13th June 2011-Public Relation Secretariat had organized a visit to parliament today.The objective of this visit were to expose the students with legislative system in Malaysia and to have a good relationship with the ministers.29 students and Hj Azmi on behalf of SDEV were participating in this visit and we were being there by bus.

Today is the first day for Dewan Rakyat having its assembly and we watched the debate among MPs.Then, we visited Dewan Negara before having a session with Dato' Saifuddin Abdullah ,Deputy Minister of MOHE.

We going back to IIUM at 3pm .Alhamdulillah we got new experience been in Parliament and know how does it run.Thank you Parliament.

IIUM ,7th June 2011- SRCIIUM had received a visit from SMK Tanjung Lumpur,Pahang yesterday.Person in charge in this event were Syahril Uzair Sahmi bin Hameed , Siti Aminah bt. Mohd. Naim , Mimi Nor Syahudda binti Setapani and also Saiful Mat Amin, the President of Enginieus Society.

They were 40 students from SMK Tanjung Lumpur who participated in this short visit and accompanied by 3 dedicated teachers from this school.

We gave a briefing about this university regarding mission and vision of IIUM ,background of the university ,and programmes . At last , we had a sharing moment and Q&A sessions. SRC were glad to have a visit from SMK Tanjung Lumpur, thank you for choosing IIUM as your visit destination.

Meeting with President of IIUM

Putrajaya,6th June 2011- we were having a meeting with IIUM President ,Tan Sri Sidek Hassan , which had been held at Bangunan Putra Perdana ,Putrajaya .This meeting was initiated by SRC IIUM President ,Mohamad Iqbal Ab Wahab and attended by SRC exco members , President of each KBS & MRC ,representative from disable student , Assistant Director of SDEV ,Bro. Amir Zahiruddin Kamal Pasha , Director of SDEV Dr Nor Asiah , and Deputy Rector of Student Affair Prof Nik Kamal.

The objective of this meeting were to promote good relationship between student leader & administration ,and to voice out welfare issues to our top level of administration.

Bro. Mohamad Iqbal Ab Wahab ,President of SRCIIUM in his speech had mentioned three points which were Islamization ,Internationalization and Welfare Issues.Tan Sri Sidek Hassan who also Chief Secretary to the government of Malaysia responed all of the issues,and give some advices also ideas to us.

We SRC for this tenure really hope to have a good relationship with administration so that our amanah as mediator of students-admin could be done successfully,insyaAllah.

Majlis Perundingan Pelajar Kebangsaan (MPPK)bil 1 2011

Last 1st till 3rd June 2011 ,4 of SRC exco members were attending Majlis Perundingan Pelajar Kebangsaan(MPPK).This programme was divided into two phases.First phase known as Pra-MPPK was held at Grand Pacific Hotel on 1st to 2nd of June 2011.There were 4 sessions , a session with Secretary General of MOHE Dato' Abdul Rahim , session with Prof Rujhan Director General of MOHE , Rehearsal of proposal presentation and at last we having a session with Deputy Minister Dato' Saifuddin Abdullah.

The second part was MPPK itself and it had been held at PWTC. MPPK is a medium to ensure that the idea of students is not limited in campus but could be voice out to the top level of the government led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin , the Deputy Prime Minister.In this session ,5 of selected proposals from all of IPTA were presented. Proudly be informed that our proposal was one of the chosen and other 4 proposals come from USM ,UTM ,UMK and UPM .SRC IIUM president , Mohamad Iqbal Ab Wahab presented proposal titled "Mengantarabangsa Minda Mahasiswa Melalui Projek Kemanusian ".

Regarding to the issue of wild monkeys and stray dogs in sisters’ mahallah ( hafsah,ameenah and safiyyah).

2/6/2011: WE had been reported the issue to the office of occupational safety and health unit. Since Bro. Ramlan, the person in charge, is not around. Then, WE had a meeting with Sis. Shikin. As a result, office staff will try their best to solve this problem.

WE hope all sisters can remain patient for now. InsyaALLAH WE will continue to get updates from the office of occupational safety and health unit if this matter remains unsettled.

(IMPORTANT INFORMATION: REGARDING TO QIBLAT DIRECTION ISSUE AT MAHALLAH SALAHUDDIN)

To all Salahuddin residents:

Regarding the issue of qiblat in Musolla Salahuddin, Mahallah Office has taken their action by sending a letter to Majlis Fatwa Negeri Selangor (Selangor Council of Fatwa) in order to check for the true qiblat. The process will take at least 10 days. Then, SCoF will send their officer and they will decide a true qiblat and give us a certificate in order to make it binding to all.

So now, it is advisable for us to use the original Qiblat. However, those who are hesitate with it; they are free to follow their own ijtihad until the new qiblat has decided by the SCoF. Actually, that situation had happened in Mahallah Uthman previously, then the Mahallah Office of Mahallah Uthman made a report to the Jabatan Islam Selangor(JAIS) Selangor Islamic Department, after had a recheck for the true qiblat, they gave Mahallah Office a certificate together with a true direction of Qiblat. So, to all IIUM’s community, please handle this situation nicely and do not make any statement which makes this situation become worst.

This programme had been held at Science University of Malaysia ,Penang from 19^th to 22^nd May 2011 .The objective of the programme were the briefing of USM Students’ Parliament and to construct the model of IPTA and National Students’ Parliament .The programme began with a opening ceremony and was launched by the Deputy Minister of MOHE , Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah .In his speech,he mentioned about the Governance Transformation Concept.

There were 5 session in this programme .Deputy Vice Chancellor of USM was the speaker for first session .He brief the concept of Dewan Perundingan Pelajar USM thoroughly .From his speech , he explained the composition of Dewan Perundingan and also standing order of DPP.

The second session was a speech from Vice Chancellor of USM ,Tan Sri Dzulkefly bin Abdul Razak.He shared the spirit of Mahasiswa on 1970 which were very active .Next ,we were having a slot with Prof Shad Saleem Faruqi.He spoke about AUKU , the comparison of this act before and after the amendment in 2009 .Next session was a forum . President of Jemaah YDP , Wan Hazman was the moderator of this forum and the panelist were,the founder and also speaker of DPP, Mohd Syafiq , secretary of DPP ,sister Bazilah and NurAzim as vice speaker of DPP.They brief deeply the operation of DPP .

Lastly ,We draft the model of Students’ Parliament for IPTA and National.

Based on COPs Meeting No.2, 2011 dated 1^st April 2011, it was decided and agreed in the meeting that there will be no storage provided in all mahallah in Gombak campus.

However, upon receiving an appeal from SRC, the Deputy Rector of Student Affairs agreed for an option to be given to the mahallah management to decide on the possibility of providing a room for students to keep their belongings during the long vacation (especially for those who are staying far).

In managing the affairs, the principal will be exercising it under his/her purview with the assistance of mahallat MRCs and BRCs as stated in item 6 in their proposal. All items and belongings stored in the room are kept at their own risk. The mahallah will not responsible for any loss or damage to the items or belongings.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful, The Cherisher and Sustainer of the World, peace and blessings upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) as the mercy upon mankind, upon the families of them all, and upon all the believers.

Alhamdulillah, after the announcement of SRC General Election Result and Syura Session, we are officially endorsed by the Rector on March 24, 2011. With that, now, all the SRC members officially may fulfill the Amanah and trust that you have laid upon us.

I, and other SRC’s main boards and Exco members would like to invite all of you; other students’ bodies, clubs, and societies in this university to unite with us in upholding the welfare issues of the students in this university. It is a pleasure to think that every one of us is concerned to believe that SRC is a part of our right; inclusively involve all students without bias and discrimination. This is the sense of belonging that we hope, will cultivate tolerance and helping culture among us. It is my wish that all students and SRC members may collaborate and support each other to implement the roles of SRC towards achieving the vision and mission of IIUM. In line with the vision and mission (the IIICE) of this university, hopefully, there will be an improvement in Islamic environment and awareness among the students, the harmony relationship between local and international students as well as increase in the involvement of students in activities that organized in this university. It is our sincere wish; of course, not only to develop a well-rounded student, but at the same time benefits the university as a whole to move forward to fulfill the Ummatic vision; covering all aspects of life, intellectual, physical, spiritual and emotional.

Besides, SRC 2010/2011 members will assume responsibility and put high efforts to continue the struggle of the previous tenure of SRC in striving for the right of students and bringing the students issues to the university authority levels. Other than that, the main issues that are closely related to students such as facilities, security, finance, and Islamic environment will be taken seriously by us.

Last but not least, parallel with the theme “1 University, 1 Ummah”, we believe that it is impossible to the SRC to move alone by themselves without any support from all of you. It is a known fact that this institution was built on the hope of the Ummah. Rising with its own aspiration with the hope to unite and make this Ummah prosper as it once was, it is ironic that this best people that mentioned in the Holy Quran takes a rather long time to unite within its own community. MENDESAK TINDAKAN SEGERA BERHUBUNG ISU-ISU MAHASISWA

Pendahuluan

Sepanjang tahun 2010, kita telah melihat pelbagai kes pencabulan hak mahasiswa telah berlaku. Daripada isu pilihan raya kampus sehinggalah kepada kes berprofil tinggi melibatkan mahasiswa seperti kes UKM 4 dan "Rosmah Puaka" di UM. Selaku Mahasiswa, senario ini dilihat telah mencemar semangat demokrasi yang menjunjung hak dan peranan setiap warganegara khususnya mahasiswa untuk turut sama menyumbang kepada pembangunan agama, bangsa dan negara Malaysia yang kita cintai. Justeru memorandum ini adalah bertujuan menyatakan gesaan kami berhubung isu-isu mahasiswa yang tidak berkesudahan tanpa penyelesaian. Kami dengan ini menggesa agar isu-isu ini diambil perhatian dan diselesaikan.

MENUNTUT PILIHANRAYA YANG BERSIH DAN TELUS

Kami wakil mahasiswa mendesak Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi dan pihak pentadbiran universiti agar menganjurkan pilihanraya yang bersih dan telus. Melihatkan kepada objektif pilihan raya kampus itu sendiri yang sepatutnya menjadi medan dan peluang utama kepada mahasiswa berpartisipasi untuk membentuk kerajaan sendiri, namun hakikatnya ianya masih tidak memberi kebebasan sepenuhnya kepada mahasiswa. Masih terdapat aduan yang menunjukkan berlakunya ketidakadilan, penipuan dan salah guna kuasa berlaku di setiap universiti. Diantara isu-isu yang hendak kami kemukan adalah:

Tarikh pilihanraya yang tidak seragan dan notis yang disembunyikan

Acapkali apabila tibanya pilihanraya kampus, mahasiswa dibiarkan di dalam keadaan keliru dan tertanya-tanya. Tarikh pilihanraya yang tidak diseragamkan di setiap universiti, notis pilihanraya yang terlalu sedikit dan ditampal di tempat-tempat yang tersembunyi sangat memberi masalah kepada mahasiswa yang berkeinginan untuk bertanding. Selain itu, situasi ini bertentangan dengan kewajipan pelajar menyertai dan mengundi di dalam pilihanraya kampus kerana informasi dan maklumat berkaitan pilihanraya tidak sampai kepada mahasiswa secara meluas. Pihak pentadbiran seakan-akan mahu menyekat penglibatan mahasiswa dan menyembunyikan informasi tentang pilhanraya kampus. Tindakan ini telah menyebabkan terdapat calon-calon, wakil-wakil calon lewat mengambil borang pencalonan dan ada yang terlepas peluang untuk bertanding.

Kuasa autonomi menguruskan pilihanraya kampus

Proses pilihanraya bagi memilih kepimpinan mahasiswa sepatutnya diuruskan sendiri oleh mahasiswa tanpa campur tangan daripada mana-mana pihak. Seperti autonomi yang diberikan kepada University Malaya Student Union (UMSU) pada era 60-an dahulu, mereka diberikan hak untuk menguruskan keseluruhan proses pilihanraya. Bermula dari penamaan calon, kempen, pengundian dan pengiraan undi pengendali utama adalah di kalangan mahasiswa melalui penubuhan suruhanjaya tersendiri.

Malangnya, kini hak autonomi mahasiswa dinafikan secara total. Mahasiswa tidak mempunyai Suruhanjaya Pilihanraya Kampus tersendiri. Suruhanjaya Pilihanraya Kampus adalah terdiri daripada badan Hal Ehwal Pelajar (HEP) tanpa sedikit pun mengambil kira pandangan mahasiswa yang merupakan kuasa utama kepada pilihanraya kampus.

Justeru, kami menyatakan pendirian kami untuk menggesa pihak Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi (KPT) supaya memberikan autonomi kepada mahasiswa untuk mengurus pilihanraya kampus sendiri. Dengan ini kami menggesa;

Mahasiswa menuntut autonomi ini dselaraskan diperingkat semua kampus, di mana semua universiti memberikan autonomi kepada mahasiswa dalam pengurusan pilihanraya.
Mahasiswa menuntut penubuhan Suruhanjaya Pilihanraya Kampus yang terdiri daripada kalangan mahasiswa sendiri bagi mengurusakan proses pilihanraya.
Mahasiswa menuntut agar dibawa masuk jawatankuasa pemantau seperti Pemantau Pilihanraya Bersih dan Adil (Mafrel) dan Suruhanjaya Hak Asasi Manusia (Suhakam) diberi kebenaran dan kebebasan untuk menjadi pemerhati di dalam pilihanraya kampus agar ianya dapat berjalan secara telus tanpa korupsi dan sebarang penyelewengan.

Semoga kuasa autonomi ini menjanjikan pilihanraya kampus berdiri atas norma demokrasi yang bersih dan telus.

2) Pelaksanaan 'appointed seat'.

Isu appointed seat yang muncul di UIAM pada tahun ini merupakan hasil keputusan pihak pentadbiran adalah sangat mengecewakan kami. Appointed seat bukan sahaja menyalahi Artikel 9 dan Artikel 15(2) Perlembagaan Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar, malah ianya juga menyekat suara demokrasi. Selain itu, para pemimpin mahasiswa yang telah dipilih melalui proses pengundian lansung tidak diajak sama berbincang berkaitan isu ini dan tiada respon diberikan kepada surat-surat yang dihantar. Kami sama sekali tidak menafikan keperluan kepada kerusi-kerusi yang dilantik, tetapi kami berharap agar ianya dilakukan secara adil dan bersih melalui proses pengundian sebagaimana yang dilakukan kepada kerusi-kerusi lain bagi mengisi tampuk kepimpinan mahasiswa.

MENANGANI GEJALA SOSIAL

Pergaulan bebas antara lelaki dan perempuan merupakan penyumbang kepada masalah kebejatan akhlak dalam masyarakat Malaysia kini khususnya di kalangan mahasiswa Institut Pengajian Tinggi (IPT). Terdapat mahasiswa universiti dan kolej yang terlibat dengan perbuatan zina, kehamilan luar nikah dan penguguran bayi. Baru-baru ini pula, negara digemparkan dengan isu pelacuran dikalangan pelajar IPT.

Kami menggesa pihak universiti terutamanya bahagian Hal Ehwal Pelajar (HEP), memainkan peranan yang sewajarnya dalam menangani gejala sosial di kalangan mahasiswa yang semakin membarah. Penguatkuasaan undang-undang sepatutnya bukan hanya melibatkan kesalahan-kesalahan sivil, tetapi juga perlu dikuatkuasakan kesalahan-kesalahan berkaitan akhlak. Percampuran bebas diantara lelaki dan perempuan, berdua-duan, membonceng motorsikal tanpa hubungan yang sah perlu dibendung sebelum parah. Selaku mahasiswa UIAM kami begitu menyokong misi dan visi penubuhan UIAM sebagai "Taman Ilmu dan Budi".

Kami menggesa pihak kerajaan untuk turut sama campur tangan dalam menangani hal ini. Gejala Hedonisme yang semakin berleluasa wajib dikawal. Selain daripada rancangan berbentuk reality TV, sejak dahulu lagi telah banyak rancangan televisyen yang betentangan dengan norma-norma masyarakat Malaysia telah disiarkan. Adegan berpelukan, berciuman dan pendedahan aurat yang melampau sememangnya telah menjadi menu khas setiap rancangan televisyen tanpa kawalan. Kemasukan artis-artis luar negara turut sama membawa budaya-budaya mereka yang sama sekali bercanggah dengan budaya kita sebagai orang timur.

KEBAJIKAN MAHASISWA

Menyentuh isu kebajkan mahasiswa, Kami menggesa kerajaan agar menumpukan isu kebajikan mahasiswa sebagai salah satu tanggungjawab kerajaan yang perlu diutamakan.

Isu Pinjaman Tabung Pengajian Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) yang tidak diberikan kepada penuntut separuh masa, waktu kemasukan wang PTPTN yang tidak selaras bagi setiap tahun pengajian serta kemasukan wang PTPTN yang lewat hampir separuh semester menyulitkan para pelajar untuk menampung perbelanjaan kehidupan di kampus. Selain itu, kadar dan tempoh bayaran semula yang dikenakan juga dilihat membebankan.
Kenaikan harga barang di peringkat nasional sangat memberi kesan kepada kenaikan harga makanan dan barangan keperluan di kampus. Hal ini ternyata sangat memberi kesan kepada mahasiswa yang sepatutnya memberi penumpuan kepada pengajian.
Peruntukan kewangan yang diberikan kepada Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar, kelab-kelab dan persatuan pelajar tidak mencukupi seterusnya merencatkan perancangan dan penglibatan mahasiswa dalam berorganisasi. Selain itu, bajet kewangan yang diagihkan kepada persatuan-persatuan juga tidak sesuai dengan fungsi dan bebanan tugas yang dipikul. Contoh yang ketara adalah peruntukan yang diberikan kepada Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar (MPP) UIAM dengan peruntukan sekitar RM 20 ribu sememangnya tidak mampu menampung pembiayaan aktiviti-aktiviti yang dirancang sepanjang tempoh kepimpinan MPP tersebut.

PARLIMEN MAHASISWA

Kami menyambut baik cadangan penubuhan parlimen mahasiswa sebagai medan mahasiswa mengutarakan pandangan, cadangan penambahbaikan serta kritikan dalam membantu kerajaan kearah pembangunan Malaysia sebagai sebuah negara yang aman, makmur, maju dan berkebajikan. Penubuhan parlimen mahasiswa di setiap Institut Pengajian Tinggi (IPT) seperti yang dicetuskan telah mendapat reaksi dari pelbagai pihak terutamanya daripada gerakan-gerakan mahasiswa yang memperjuangkan hak dan kebebasan mereka di kampus. Cadangan penubuhan parlimen mahasiswa ini sudah dipersetujui oleh pihak Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi, Dato' Saifuddin Abdullah. Namun besar harapan kami agar parlimen mahasiswa ditubuhkan atas ruh kebebasan berpandangan yang sebenar serta praktikal dari sudut perlaksanaannya. Justeru, kami menggesa kerajaan untuk memberikan autonomi kepada mahasiswa untuk mencorak bentuk parlimen mahasiswa yang diinginkan.

Mahasiswa bangkit untuk menyatakan beberapa tuntutan berkaitan isu penubuhan parlimen mahasiswa iaitu:
1. Perlunya pemansuhan terhadap Seksyen 15 Akta Universiti & Kolej Universiti (AUKU) 1971 yang dilihat bercanggah dengan penubuhan parlimen mahasiswa (ta'rifan parlimen itu sendiri merujuk kepada satu majlis yang mempunyai autoriti menggubal undang-undang)
2. Sebarang penggubalan undang-undang termasuk tatacara, kaedah dan sebagainya mestilah dibentangkan kepada seluruh mahasiswa kampus sebagai penjelasan kepada mahasiswa walaupun ianya telah 'diharmonikan'.
3. Sebarang kritikan, penambahbaikan, cadangan dan saranan boleh dilakukan terhadap undang-undang ini oleh seluruh mahasiswa kampus sebelum perkara ini diwartakan.
Konklusinya, kami melihat penubuhan Parlimen Mahasiswa ini sebagai titik permulaan mahasiswa untuk bebas bersuara dan bukan hanya retorik politik semata.

PENUTUP

Mahasiswa perlu diiktiraf sebagai generasi pelapis kepimpinan negara yang bakal menerajui kemajuan dan ketamadunan Malaysia pada masa akan datang. Hak dan kebebasan mahasiswa seharusnya tidak wajar disekat dan diikat. Justeru, tidak seharusnya kebobrokan dalam kampus terus dibiar berleluasa yang mana ianya melambangkan wajah mahasiswa Malaysia selaku peneraju kepimpinan negara. Usaha yang gigih dari semua entii dalam masyarakat, baik di peringkat kerajaan, kementerian berwajib, pentadbiran universiti serta mahasiswa perlulah disatukan oleh setiap mereka yang terlibat demi melahirkan mahasiswa berjiwa pemimpin yang bakal mencorakkan kegemilangan negara.

Justeru, mahasiswa pada hari ini menggesa agar memorandum ini dapat diambil perhatian oleh Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi dan tidak menolak mentah-mentah oleh kesemua ahli kabinet menteri yang diyakini mencintai rakyat dan meletakkan pembinaan mahasiswa sebagai perkara yang utama.

URGING THE ADMINISTRATION TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION ON UNSOLVES WELFARE ISSUES

UNSOLVED WELFARE ISSUES OF IIUM, WE URGE FOR ACTION

1) STUDENTS' REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL 2009/2010 or SRC is the main student body, which play a vital role to cater the students' welfare as well as to fulfill students' rights in IIUM itself. The ultimate goal is to become a leading student body by striving for a more conducive environment for students to develop and hence enable the students to realize the mission and ideas of the university as stated in its Triple ICE.

2) The "Unsolved welfare Issues in IIUM" is the summary of comments, suggestions, complaints, critics and dissatisfactions from IIUM students regarding four major problems which are Security, Facilities, Academic and Financial, and Biah Solehah. The comments were received in many ways by SRC such as from DTE (Down to Earth), survey form, face to face complaint, Facebook, e-mail and etc.

3) All of these issues had been brought up by the current SRC (session 2009/2010) and even the SRC before them (session 2008/2009) to the IIUM administration. Besides, there were meetings and discussions being held between SRC and administration. In fact, the students themselves have voiced out on the similar point during Admin-Student Dialogue organized by SRC. Thus, SRC 2009/2010, as the voice of students, it is our responsibility to urge the administration to take immediate action on the unsolved welfare issues brought up.

4) This memorandum is supported by leaders from Kulliyyah Based Society (KBS), Mahallah Representative Committee (MRC), clubs and associations in IIUM

Therefore, WE, the IIUM leaders urged the IIUM Administration

1) To give full attention and immediate action for those issues listed.

2) We demand the authority to have some discussion with the students before imposing or making any important decision regarding student welfare and education.

3) We demand the authority to inform the students on any matters related to Ministry of Higher Education's implementation.

4) We dishonor any appointed seats arrangement since it against the constitution of IIUM.

5) We humbly request from your good self to response on these four issues within three months.

Theft Issues

Theft cases at the Mahallah occurred because some students have duplicated the key and some of the students did not return the key.
Security personnel do not allow female students to enter mahallah after curfew hours. This has rise concern on sister's safety.

Many motorcycles were stolen because of disfunction of light provided at the parking area.

Students' belongings were stolen at mosque of IIUM.

Ensure security guards at each Mahallah
function well.

Ensure the security personnel to observe Mahallah surroundings.

Ensure lights are function at the parking area.

Immediate action should be taken by mosque management and security when the students lodge a report.

Stray dogs and wild monkeys

Many students were dissatisfied with the stray dogs and wild monkeys which can endanger the student's safety.

Collaborate with Jabatan Perhilitan Negara to solve the matters soon as possible.

2	SPORT (IIUM athletes' welfare, facilities, services, allegation)	There were some reports by students on mismanagement of sport's financial Disfunction facilities provided (e.g: Gymnasium for Male Sport Complex).	Admin to check on the report alleged. Replace obsolete and old sport facilities. Provide officer for each sport area to manage sport facilities. Upgrade male and female sport complex.
3	DISABLE STUDENTS	Path/walk ways to Kulliyyah being provided are not friendly for the disabled students. The toilet provided in their Kulliyyah and rooms were not in the good condition. Not suitable classes and related facilities (e.g.: desk, chair and etc) provided. Their wheelchair are old and practically not functioned at it best condition.	Appoint professional care staff to cater the welfare of the disabled student. Upgrade the condition of the toilet. Upgrade their facilities. Provide them with new wheelchair.

Level of language

No basic of Arabic Language. Thus, students cannot cope to study until level 6 (HS student).

Wireless speed and coverage had been a problem during add and drop period due to the busy networking system. This had caused difficulty for students to go online.
Manual system of add and drop was too complicated.

Revision period before the final examination is too short, when at times the revision period clashes with the replacement classes and assignment submissions which is 3 days compared to 1 week in other university.

More sections for the core course should be offered.

Consider the level for non Arabic background students.

To widen the internet coverage and make special bandwidth just for add and drop session.
Make manual add drop system easier.

To extend the revision period for students to make proper preparations for the final examinations like other university in Malaysia.

FINANCE

BUDGET

PTPTN release the loan very late. At present, many students have still yet to receive their PTPTN money. Students are suffering since it is already a month of the semester been commenced.

SRC is facing difficulties to work due to budget constrain.
SRC, KBS and club were not allowed to conduct a programme which can generate income.

University to urge the PTPTN to release the money soon as possible.

SRC should be given more budget to run their programme.
Admin should allow SRC,KBS and clubs to conduct a programme which can generate income to them.

BIAH SOLEHAH

		Inappropriate mixing of brothers and sisters in Human Sciences Café especially at night.	Management / administration enforcement on the disciplinary rules. Clear signage should be put in place – separate the seats for brothers and sisters. Security personnel should monitor (by shift) the specified area especially at midnight.
		Mahallah Salahuddin - as students of opposite gender are placed together in the same mahallah, they also mix in the activities such as playing basketball. University Sports Carnival – students dance (poco-poco dance) in front of the administration representatives which was not the culture of IIUM as an Islamic university	Administration should take action. The security control for the sisters in Mahallah Salahuddin is a concern as the resident area is quite far from the Kulliyyah and other female Mahallah. Organizer of the programmes should ensure the muamalah being observed by the students.
2	Aurat and Islamic education	Students' dress code were not according to Syarie'	Strict enforcement from the authority Halaqah should be substituted with Fardhu 'Ain class since Halaqah give little impact on student's understanding (some incompetent naqib/naqibah)

CONCLUSION

We understand that there are some difficulties to solve the issue brought up by the students. However, we sincerely trust the administration can provide some clarification to any unsolved welfare issue and later take immediate action towards the issue raised. This referendum is very important to be put into serious action for the betterment of IIUM student's welfare.

It is our ardent hope that there will be a serious action taken by your good office. We hope to receive a favorable response from your good self. Your consideration and cooperation are highly sought and appreciated. Thank You.
